Finally We See The Nokia Meego and N9

Everybody who were completely excited with the newest operating system Nokia had planned to launch this year would be really happy after reading this as the company has not only come out with the OS but also the new model of its phone Nokia N9. This is one of the first time that we expect the company to be out with another OS rather than its Symbian and a new phone together creating a new excitement in the market for all.

We had already covered on our previous reviews about the Nokia N8 as well as the operating system Meego and it was somewhere around a few months ago. The new phone which is the n9 or as it is also labelled as the Lankku has a 3.9 inch AMOLED screen and at least for now sounds a bit better to the previous version of its phone.

As Mobile Crunch reports on this;

The N9 is an entirely buttonless handset (with the exception of a volume rocker and camera shutter button), and is basically just a 3.9-inch sheet of 854 x 480 AMOLED screen. On the back, that polycarbonate shell is colored all the way through so you don’t have to worry so much about those ugly scratches.

Also we get to hear that the phone will support 50 hours of backup even if a person listens to music and has the dimensions 116.45mm x 61.2mm x 7.6-12.1mm and weighs in at 135g. Also it will last 4.5 hours if the a person views a video or a movie( which is enough I guess).

The company also had this video on its official YouTube channel;

Engadget also covered a better version of this story where it adds;

As for software? Aside from Angry Birds Magic, Galaxy on Fire 2, Real Golf 2011 and OpenGL ES 2.0, those who take the plunge will be greeted with a Webkit2-based browser, pinch-to-zoom support, unified notifications for Facebook, Twitter and RSS feeds in the Events view as well as social networking profiles and status updates merged into phone contacts. MeeGo touts a user interface simplified to three home views — events, applications and open apps — with a swipe gesture able to take you back to the home view.

The blog also a dded a special image gallery for the new range of phones

We all expect the new OS as well as the phone do good throughout the market and maybe become  a new phase both in the field of smartphones as well as the operating systems.
